Waiting is the Hardest Part

In the words of Tom Petty, "waiting is the hardest part . . ."

We've been waiting at home since 4:30 am for the hospital to call and tell us to come on down so they can induce labor. In fact, Rob woke up at 4:21 and I woke up at 4:22 and we just stared at each other. No phone call and neither of us could go back to sleep so we watched an infomercial for The Ninja blender.

All morning we've just waited for the phone to ring. It FINALLY rang at about 11:45 am and it was the hospital! Of course, the call was just to say that labor and delivery is packed and they won't be able to have me come in until this evening.

DAMN!

At 2pm I do have to go into the doctor's office for another blood pressure test and a nonstress test for the baby. What exactly are they expecting? With all the stress of waiting, how could my blood pressure possibly be low? Now, I kind of want to go into labor this afternoon out of spite just to make the labor and delivery room even BUSIER.
