Ella, Meet Jack

Rob and I spent a lot of our time in the hospital thinking of the best way to introduce Ella to her new baby brother. Because of H1N1 flu restrictions at the hospital, she wasn't allowed to visit him in the maternity ward.

We brought Jack home on Thursday, April 1st while Ella was at preschool. We decided that when she got home (and finally saw Mommy and Daddy again) we would give her a choice: she could play with Daddy or meet Little Brother. We figured it was a no-brainer that she would choose to play with Daddy.

Oh no. She instantly wanted to meet Little Brother. It was love at first sight. She was instantly intrigued with him.








































Here's a video of their first meeting. Jack's on the floor in his carseat and Rob's carrying her over. When she mentions how "they're both little," she's talking about Jack and her cousin Julia, who's off camera. Also, she says his name is "Repteel." We'll do a post on that later, but Repteel is the superhero name Ella and Rob gave Jack before he was born.

Ella still can't get enough of Jack. She likes to tickle him and touch him and kiss the side of his head. Rob and I spend a lot of time trying to encourage her to love him while also keeping him from getting squished.
