Rob and I really enjoy debating which of her characteristics she inherited from me and which from him. However, it's more fun to note what she's inherited from extended family. Clearly, her love of animals came from my mother, Anne, her twin Ellen, our Grandfather, Arthur, and my sister, Sara.
Our home is pet-free, but Veterinarian Auntie Sara has a dog and three cats. Ella absolutely adores them! In fact, she stalks them around the house. Franklin is a great dog who puts up with it. Cats Toby and Parker have learned to avoid her entirely. Reggie, however, adores Ella right back.
Here are two videos of Ella relentlessly chasing Reggie around, grabbing his tail, and pulling his fur. If you listen closely, you can hear her saying, "Kah Ka," which we clearly interpret as "Kitty Cat."

Finally a "cat sized animal" that will pay attention to Reggie. My other cats and dog think of him as the annoying little brother. Reggie would like lots of play dates with Ella.

I actually heard her saying Caca which is Spanish for crap. What have you guys been teaching her? :-)
