Maple Sugaring Fieldtrip

This morning Ella and I went on a fieldtrip with her class to Warrup's Farm to go maple sugaring.
Don't worry, it wasn't a sticky toddler nightmare. The Warrup's farmer showed us how they tap the trees and then showed us where they boil the sap down to make syrup. Then they got to look at all the animals and plant their own potatoes.

Here's Ella with her syrup and the potato she planted.

"Yum, syrup!"

Here we are watching the sap get boiled. This room was warm and smelled delicious.

Now, we're learning how to plant potatoes. It's not too tricky, you just stick a potato in the ground, add some water and sun and wait.

Here's Ella with her half planted potato. She loved being in the greenhouse and kept saying, "Mommy this is a big tent."

Here's Ella and her best bud, Marc, looking at the animals.

As we were getting in the car to go home, Ella said, "Mommy, this was so fun!"
