Improvisational Water Table

Friday started out like any other day in April in New England- about 31 degrees F. By lunch time, it had warmed up enough that Ella was on the porch hanging out.








By late afternoon, it was approaching 90 and we were hot. To cool off, I made an improvisational water table out of two shallow plastic bins (Thank you to Dave and Kristin for the great idea- their daughter Elizabeth's "water table" is a plastic underbed storage box!).


Ella had a great time splashing away (with the kitchen toys that her friend Angela gave her for her birthday) until . . .












she decided she would be much cooler if she improvised a kiddie pool. Still wearing her pink cordouroy pants, Ella climbed right into one of the bins.











She played happily until . . .













Daddy got home and she wanted OUT so she could play with him. Her soaking diaper and cordouroys weighed about 50 lbs each, so we had to get her nudie on the porch and bring her inside for new clothes.








*NOTE: This morning a new real water table (a gift from Granddaddy Rybolt) arrived at our door. I don't think she can climb into it but you never know . . .
